I remember way back when I weighed in at 175lbs and was traveling the province racing in triathlons, how much fun it was and how great the people were. These memories came flooding back to me when my editorial crew said that they were featuring the hottest triathlon gear and bikes (I am one of those who thinks that bikes are sexy).
 I even had a brief moment in time where I thought of making a comeback. The only problem was that when I weighed in one day during my morning training session, I had topped the magic number of 200lbs. I knew right then that my ‘racing’ days were probably numbered, but my ‘participation’ days are still ahead of me. I have been inspired to get ready to do a triathlon this summer. I will let you know how it goes and challenge those of you who did these physical feats when you were younger, only to let it slip away when the job got too busy, the kids came along, etc, etc, etc, to get back in motion. Make the summer of 2008 your summer to run a 5K, do the half marathon, enter a triathlon or even just get back on that bike for a ride with the kids. You will show your kids that being active is healthy and part of a good lifestyle, and you will feel great about yourself.
Summer 2008 is also going to be full of contests from us here at Winnipeg Men (and Winnipeg Women). We began our search for couples to be our test drivers for this year’s Pursuit driving event last issue and wow did you respond! Keep the entries coming and make them good because the competition is tough.
