Rogers Wireless: Helping you stay connected all year long.
WINNER:
In May 2004, our family suffered a tragic and sudden loss when our son, brother and father died in a plane accident. He left behind both parents, two many siblings to count, several nieces and nephews and more importantly, a son. For the past 3 years, Christmas has been one of the hardest times of the year for our family because we can't help but feel the huge gap there is now with his absence. In all honesty, our family hasn't been the same since. He was a loud, boisterous and smiley guy. After two years of trying, our sister gave birth to a baby girl this August, named after my brother. In fact, she was born 8 days after his birthday. She's one of the smiliest babies I've seen in a long time. And a huge part of me is looking forward to this Christmas even more because she's here, and in some strange way, so is he. In name yes, in our hearts, definately...but in memory more than ever. She, I would have to say, was the best early Christmas gift our family has ever received.- Debra
Honourable Mentions:
Well most of my family lives in montreal so we have to connect via facebook, which is kinda lame, but being as broke as we are, its are only travel destination, through fiberoptic wires :( - Natasha
Always rushing rushing RUSHING around--the holiday season is the time when we stop to really enjoy one another: we read inspiring stories stories aloud at the end of a long day (Like Chicken Soup for the Soul); snuggle to watch the Christmas classics as a family rather than separating to TVs throughout the house; play board games; hike snowy trails in the gorgeous Winnipeg parks and environs, build snow forts worthy of tourists (very small tourists, mind you!) and have the requisite warm, delicious traditional dishes (my Mom even planned to bring her cabbage rolls to us on the airplane!). - Lorianne
Our family makes the extra effort around the holidays to make sure that everyone is home for dinner and eats together around the table. Its the best time of the day to reconnect about the goings-ons in each of our lives and we make it a priority. - Serena
There has never been a Christmas where our family hasn't connected. It's the whole clan from the grandchildren to the great-great-grandparents. We play, we sing, and of course, we EAT! - Calla
