Vintage Golf
Written by Staff

Made with the same components as Victorian clubs of the 1800s (beech, pear and hickory wood, molten lead, animal horn, pitched-linen whipping, etc.) these golf clubs are true replicas. Handmade by golf enthusiast and woodworker Kelly Leonard, of K. Leonard Hickory Golf, their design is inspired by original clubs by Hugh Philp.

Since he started making the clubs three years ago, Leonard has found a loyal customer base in both the U.S. and Canada. Leonard’s clubs are made to be played, but require the use of Victorian-era golf balls, called guttie balls, which were made from gutta-percha wood.

The most common clubs Leonard makes are the long-nose spoon and the long-nose putter, to truly replicate the way golf was played in the 1800s.
The price of a single club ranges from $380 to $470. To view clubs or to make an order call Leonard at (204) 791-2582.
