Working on my second book, Got’Em, Got’Em Need’Em: The Top 100 Sports Cards of All-Time, which will launch in April 2011. I’m also getting into the wedding photography biz (shot my first reception in July) and I have a couple secret projects in the works. Follow me on Twitter to learn more!
The military-inspired exercises look intense. Any chance you’ll take up an army work out?
I’d be curious to try it. While on a school trip in Israel I spent a week in their military program and would like to see if I can survive Canadian training.
The most interesting thing you learned while writing the Toews article?
While researching, I came across an AOL chat that went very, very wrong. I also learned that his brother, David, is playing with the Wheat Kings this year; hopefully they play a game or two in Winnipeg.
The number one thing on your fall “to do” list?
Keep the barbecue going as long as I can. My wife and I got our first grill this year and I want to experiment a bit more before the snow falls.
Your best sports assignment ever?
Covering the last game at the Winnipeg Arena. I got to spend some time watching hockey with Teemu Selanne. It’s hard to top that!

Recent projects?
Getting this issue done while organizing final details for our wedding was hectic. But I can’t lie, I look forward to after the issue’s out and we’re relaxing on a beach in Hawaii.
Most interesting feature you worked on for this issue?
I’d have to say the Jonathan Toews feature. It’s awesome to see a Winnipegger rise to his caliber in the NHL in the amount of time that he has. It’ll be interesting to see where he goes from what he’s already achieved.
What you’re most looking forward to this fall?
Having nothing to do on weekends again. :)
What you’re most dreading this fall?
The snow to fly already. Summer just went by way too fast. But like most people in Manitoba, once the snow does hit we make the best of it.
Your most anticipated sport of the season?
Watching hockey on TV again, or hopefully actually getting out myself and snowboarding in the mountains somewhere.
